ShooOutOfTheGarden

This three-star logic puzzle has 6 noun types, 5 nouns per type, 4 links, 21 facts, and 1 rule with a trigger. It needs 375 marks and 15 grids. The rule ensures that "A couple found an animal in their own garden."

Level 1 is able to solve the puzzle, but some credit needs to be given to the trigger and to how clue 4 is handled. Clue 4 states "No two of the woodchuck, rabbit, and deer were found in consecutive weeks." A special method was called that determined that these 3 animals must be in either weeks 1, 3, or 5. Therefore, they cannot be in weeks 2 or 4.

The trigger was invoked by mark 205 when the Whites did not find an animal in their own garden. This left only the Smiths, so the trigger entered mark 206 which confirms that the Smiths found an animal in their own garden.

This is a fairly challenging puzzle because many of the facts have the "before" link.
